Tym has been touring by bike since he was 11 years old. His early tours included day and weekend trips with his family and friends. In college, Tym and a friend did a 500 mile unsupported trip around Wisconsin. Tym has continued to tour and has been on dozens of supported tours and has also completed a 4150 miles cross-country tour from Washington to Maine.

Rick is an avid bicycle touring enthusiast with over a dozen organized tours under his wheels. In 2007, he circumnavigated the state of Wisconsin on a self-organized and self-supported tour. In 2008, Rick completed a cross-country, self-supported ride from Yorktown, VA to Florence, OR. Rick, now that he has retired from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, has more time to find the perfect place to ride.

When Sonja was 10 her dad came home with her first bike, a red single speed Schwinn, boys’ frame, which she had to share with her two sisters! Being faster and more determined meant it was hers more often. The freedom and mobility were empowering. As an adult, Sonja commuted and explored by bike with a heavy, plastic child carrier on the back, toting each of her children in turn. More recently, Sonja has been touring on her recumbent, hybrid or road bike.
